Description: Reckon2 is an Augmented Reality element mapping tool optimized for underwater mapping. The purpose is for use in the annual RoboSub competition by Cornell’s Autonomous Underwater Vehicles team.

Usage:

  1. Upon opening, the app will attempt to find a flat horizontal surface. This will set initial anchors and will be initialized as the water level.
  2. The water level is represented by the blue plane, and the arrows in the bottom right can be used to adjust it to the correct height
  3. Open the models menu with the plus in the bottom left. Upload models with the plus icon (.usdz files only), delete models with the trash icon, tap a model name to add to the world, and press star to make a model the reference object for map exports.
  4. Use the refresh button in the top right to clear all elements
  5. Move elements in the horizontal plane by dragging them across the screen. Hold momentarily before moving your finger to move the elements vertically. Use two fingers to rotate objects
  6. In the models menu, press “Generate Map” then “Press to Share” to share a JSON file of the position and orientation of all elements relative to the starred reference object
