Description: Reckon2 is an Augmented Reality element mapping tool optimized for underwater mapping. The purpose is for use in the annual RoboSub competition by Cornell’s Autonomous Underwater Vehicles team.
Usage:
- Upon opening, the app will attempt to find a flat horizontal surface. This will set initial anchors and will be initialized as the water level.
- The water level is represented by the blue plane, and the arrows in the bottom right can be used to adjust it to the correct height
- Open the models menu with the plus in the bottom left. Upload models with the plus icon (.usdz files only), delete models with the trash icon, tap a model name to add to the world, and press star to make a model the reference object for map exports.
- Use the refresh button in the top right to clear all elements
- Move elements in the horizontal plane by dragging them across the screen. Hold momentarily before moving your finger to move the elements vertically. Use two fingers to rotate objects
- In the models menu, press “Generate Map” then “Press to Share” to share a JSON file of the position and orientation of all elements relative to the starred reference object
